About Us

Mission Statement:

We are First Robotics Competition Team 5811, BONDS. We are a group of high school students from all over the Dayton area and our mission is to bring STEM (Science Technology Engineering & Math) opportunities to students all over our community. We want to get members of our community interested in STEM while bringing diverse cultures together. So, how do we do it?

Bringing Opportunities Near Dayton Students (BONDS)

In the fall of 2015, BONDS was formed by a group of students that came together from Dayton Early College Academy and Oakwood High School. Soon after, in January 2016, we took on our first mission, FIRST Stronghold.

We have been learning since our first season in 2016, and have continued to grow.  During meetings, students are engaged in sub-teams such as Build, CAD, and Marketing. We are always looking to bring opportunities to new students in the Dayton area. If you are interested in joining the team or learning more about what we do, please message us at bondfrc@gmail.com. Find more information about our team on our “Prospective Agents” page! If you aren't a student, but still want to be a part of the team you can learn more about how you can help on our "Partnerships" page or send us an email!

Our team has a place for everyone, no matter the skills or interests that you possess. We run BONDS like a business. We have sub-groups responsible for several areas of the team; Build, Programming, Business, Marketing, and more. Each team has a captain who carefully delegates work to other people in their respective areas. In this way, we can be the most efficient as a team.

FIRST’s mission is to inspire young people to be leaders and innovators in science and technology. This is done by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build STEM skills, inspire ideas, and foster well-rounded life capabilities such as self-confidence, communication, and leadership. As an FRC team, we do our best to embody FIRST’s values and bring STEM opportunities to local students.
